Responsible for designing analog and mixed-signal
power management ICs within the Power Management Business Unit
Design Center in Florida. Products include charge pumps, switchers,
smart battery circuits, chargers and linear regulators for fast-growing
markets like broadband modems, PDAs, notebooks, cell phones,
telecom, fiber optics, digital camera, and network equipment.
Processes include state-of-the-art 0.8micron power BiCMOS and
80V BCDMOS, with new technologies available every year. Junior
designers, with the mentoring of a team of seasoned professionals,
typically bring to market two products per year while developing
a range of design skills and participating in simulation, layout
supervision, and laboratory characterization. In addition to
introducing two die types per year, senior designers may mentor
group members and assist in defining new products. Job requires
good self-management skills and personal ownership of the product's

Optical Communications Applications Engineer

This engineer will work with integrated circuit
designers and IC test and product engineers to (1) generate specifications
for new IC products for optical communications, (2) evaluate
and characterize new IC products for optical communications,
(3) support customer applications of these IC's.
The qualified candidate should have 5 or more years experience
in the field of optical communications. Should have hands-on
experience in the design or characterization of opto-electronic
systems. Specific experience with lasers, photodetectors, transimpedance
amplifiers IC's, laser driver IC's, serializer/deserializer IC's,
clock and data recovery IC's. Experience handling optical devices
and modules, optical fiber passive devices and sub-assemblies.
Familiarity with Sonet, Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel, Infiniband,
etc. physical layer optical communication standards.
